As the chip nears completion, Alex uncovers disturbing side effects in test subjectsfragmented thoughts and emerging personasand receives a cryptic warning about something called "Multies." NeuroTech's profit-driven leadership dismisses his concerns, but Alex soon discovers that Ava has transformed into an oppressive overlord, using a hivemind to control the population.Determined to stop her, Alex joins forces with a group of rebels: Zara, a cunning hacker with a personal vendetta against Ava; Claire, a compassionate medic; and Lila, a skilled warrior.
