Sofia daydreams of a comfortable life beyond the slums of Ecuador and hopes a man, young or old, would come and sweep her off her feet and off the coast of her country.Then one day her star shines as she stumbles into George at a mall in Ecuador; he is single, a tourist, and finds Sofia attractive. After series of communication, he proposes, marries, and sponsors her to Canada, and then her nightmare begins.George has changed, and Sofia misses being in love and appreciated, that is, until an old flame resurfaces, and she does the unthinkable that could possibly give her a spine to stand up to her abusive husband, or further sink her shaky marriage down the drain.
