Horacio is a Uruguayan soldier, grandson of slaves, the lighthouse keeper on a tiny island in the South Atlantic. He is poor and suffers from ill health. To fulfill his dream of giving his daughter a future, Horacio joins the UN's peace keeping forces in the land of his ancestors, the DR Congo.
